Entering a gate, regardless of its type and rank, costs one gate key. However, your gate keys will be consumed only if you clear the gates. Initially, you can hold 10 gate keys in Solo Leveling Arise.

Your ability to store the maximum gate keys will increase as you level up and upgrade Sung Jinwoo’s Reputation level. Your gate keys' storage capacity can go up to approximately 15 by the time you reach level 19.

The keys obtained from purchases, either with Essence Stones or real money, will be available even if you have the maximum amount. For instance, if your maximum capacity is 12, you can purchase and hold more than that. However, you will only get refills up to the maximum level each day.

There are five types of gates: Red, Dungeon Breaks, Normal, Bonus, and Special. They range from the lowest E, D, C, B, and A to the highest S rank. The higher the gate’s rank, the more rewards you get for clearing them. The rewards also depend upon the type of gate you clear. Below are the details:

  • Normal Gates primarily grant weapon-enhancement materials.
  • Red Gates gives Rune Fragments.
  • Bonus Gates rewards in-game items at random.
  • Special Gates provides Gold and Shadow resources.
  • Dungeon Breaks grant Melding Cube or Designs.

Some require playing by forming a party with Jinwoo, whereas others only with Hunters. You can view the requirements by looking at the icon near each gate. Those who require playing with Jinwoo have his icon, and those who require Hunters have their icon.

Using the rescan feature, you can also refresh the existing gates, get new ones, and increase their difficulty levels. However, after rescanning, you must wait five minutes before doing so again.

Clearing a gate without battling waves of monsters is also possible using the sweep feature. However, you must meet the sweep condition, such as selecting Jinwoo or Solo Leveling Arise Hunters more than the required Total Power. You can sweep gates other than A and S-rank ones for free. To sweep the two gates, however, you must purchase a Special Sweep pack that costs $9.67.

Here are some of the best tips on effectively using gate keys in Solo Leveling Arise:

  1. Use the rescan feature and clear higher-ranked gates for abundant rewards.
  2. Clear the type of gates based on your resource requirement.
  3. Use sweep as much as you can to avoid unnecessary fights. After clearing three gates, you will also get a hefty amount of EXP and Gold rewards. So, sweep as many gates as you can.
  4. After you clear a gate, Enter the mining system by clicking the Go to Gate Mining button at the bottom left in the Gates interface. You will get Gold, Essence Stones, Mana Crystals, and more in-game items by mining each gate depending on their ranks.
