How to defeat Maelstrom in Stellar Blade

The Maelstrom in Stellar Blade is a ginormous monster that Eve encounters on her journey, and it is unusual in a few aspects. For starters, like with the Levoires, you don't have access to Eve's Blood Edge sword, so you must rely on your ranged drone assaults.

Secondly, rather than following Eve around the battlefield and making you aware of your surroundings, the Maelstrom is linked to the wall by webs made out of fleshy mass. It can use these projectiles to target you.

How to take down the Maelstrom in Stellar Blade

With its large health bar, the Maelstrom in Stellar Blade appears to be a big tank. By merely shooting or slashing at it randomly, you'll chip away at its health in such small amounts that the monster will have an easier time taking you down. An important combat tip in this boss fight is the use of ranged weapon hits to target weak points.

There are multiple yellow glowing spots of mass on the Maelstrom that Eve should target to alter the tide of battle, as these can do significant amounts of damage. However, this is just one phase in taking it down. Once all of the weak spots have been destroyed, a bigger boil-like target emerges in the center, shooting which causes a huge amount of damage.

The main forms of attack for Maelstrom in Stellar Blade are:

• There is a throw attack in which it launches three globules of crimson liquid that deal good damage. It can also chuck twelve tiny globules, instead of launching three big ones. These can be dodged simply as you keep moving on the battlefield.
• The next assault is a gold-colored cannon hit that launches at you with tremendous velocity, so be prepared to dodge or perfect-dodge this cannon hit.
• One of his moves will summon a swarm of small critters, who will pursue you and detonate themselves when they get close enough. This attack is critical since it provides the majority of your ammunition replenishments.
• The final assault is a laser, which fires a beam at the ground and out towards your location. Avoid this strong, unblockable strike by moving to the side or rushing forward.

While hitting the Maelstrom and its weak spots will do damage, most of the harm will be done once all four targets have been destroyed and the center of the Maelstrom has opened up. When it does, pour all the power of your Eve build into its center and watch its health plummet.

After repeating this procedure a few times, the boss fight will be over.
