The gaming community caught a glimpse of Valve Deadlock in an X post by @gabefollower. The screenshots are from the current Alpha testing phase. By the looks of it, the game is supposedly a combination of TF2, Overwatch 2, Dota 2, and many tactical FPS and MOBA games in the current market.

Deadlock will be a competitive shooter with a third-person perspective. Moreover, it’ll be a 6v6 hero-based shooter, consisting of four lanes with tower defense mechanics similar to popular MOBAs like LOL and Dota 2.

However, judging from the comments, it has failed to impress most fans. In the X post of @gabefollower, a user named @neniou complained regarding the graphics and said:

From the X post of Gabe Follower, we caught a glimpse of an existing hero named Grey Talon, who specializes in long-range skill shots. The character’s looks might take inspiration from Windranger in Dota 2.

Moreover, based on the screenshots and rumors, the game will be a mix of Overwatch 2, TF2, Dota 2, Smite, Valorant, and more hero-based shooters and MOBAs. And the Heroes of the game might be based on magical and outside-world creatures.

In an era where games like Overwatch 2, CS2, and Dota 2 are predominant and already sitting on the top of the FPS and MOBA pyramid, it’ll be interesting to see how Deadlock can make its way into the scene and make a name for themselves.
