Winning games in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 has become rather difficult. Given the loot pool, the large island, and other variable factors, most players are eliminated by late mid-game. That said, this doesn't have to be a prevalent scenario.

By following a few tips and implementing them in-game, players can improve their odds of winning more matches. This will allow them to earn more experience points and level up faster to unlock Battle Pass rewards.

Secure high ground and other simple tips to follow to win more games in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

1) Find as much ammo as possible

Certain weapons in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, such as the Overclocked Pulse Rifle and Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle, burn through ammo at breakneck speeds. In a heated battle, players can easily use over 200 rounds of bullets in mere seconds. This is why it's important to always keep enough ammo in reserve.

After the landing phase ends, players should actively seek out ammo of all kinds and collect it. Even if it won't be used immediately, it's always better to keep a large reserve just in case. This tactic will also provide benefits when playing in Duos, Trios, or Squads mode.

2) Secure high ground and keep an escape route open

When fighting in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 POIs such as Mega City, it's always a good idea to secure high ground. This can be done using Ziplines and/or Grind Rails. Once on high ground, players can pick and choose their targets with ease. Using a Cobra DMR or Heavy Sniper is the best option.

Keep in mind that while securing high ground is important, having an escape route is equally essential. If things get too 'hot' and opponents decide to push, escaping from the high ground is not easy. Keep the Aerialist Reality Augment handy or execute perfectly timed jumps from one Grind Rail to another to reach the ground swiftly.

3) Use the Kinetic Blade to rush opponents and take them by surprise

The Kinetic Blade is a powerful melee weapon in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. In close-range combat, it can be used to attack opponents and knock them back in a fight. While its offensive capabilities have made it a must-have item during a match, its usefulness in mobility cannot be ignored.

Instead of charging opponents headfirst, the Kinetic Blade can be used to close the gap rapidly. With three stored charges, players can cover short distances with ease to get within striking range of their target. In fact, if timed perfectly, players can get the drop on their target and take them by surprise.

4) Choose Reality Augments that suit your playstyle

Reality Augments are powerful perks that players can choose from during a match to gain temporary buffs. While there is plenty to choose from, only a few will suit a particular playstyle. While it will require gold bars to re-roll Reality Augments and find the perfect combination, it's well worth the cost.

For instance, players who rely on ARs in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 can create a potent Reality Augment combo using Medium Ammo Amp and Munitions Slide. The former increases the magazine size of weapons that use medium-ammo, while the latter allows players to gain medium-ammo while sliding.

5) Crouch and move while surrounded by opponents

If surrounded by opponents in a POI, breaking from cover and sprinting to safety may seem like a good idea, but it is the last thing you should do. Given how powerful ARs have become in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, you will likely be beaming before being able to rotate to safety.

For this reason, crouching and moving while being surrounded by opponents is the best idea. While it may require a bit of planning and tactful movement, in most instances, players can rotate to safety without being shot at or having to use numerous healing items to stay alive.

6) Don't emote after eliminating an opponent

The urge to use "Take The L" and other such emotes in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 after eliminating an opponent is sometimes irresistible. Since defeated players can see a 'kill cam,' players tend to emote to 'flex' their skills. While this isn't bad sportsmanship, it can lead to several problems.

With Heavy Sniper present in the loot pool, emoting is risky. Since most players use emotes that are non-traversal in nature, they have to stand still to perform them. While emoting, if another player has a clear view of the situation and has good aim, they can use a Heavy Sniper to score an instant elimination. Rather than a potential Victory Royale, things will end in embarrassment and defeat.

7) Pick and choose engagements

The need to secure a good K/D ratio is ever present in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. The goal for more aggressive players is to keep engaging opponents and defeat them in battle. However, at times, engaging everything that moves in a match is not a good idea. Given the terrain and the opponent's loadout, they might gain the upper hand in a fight.

For this reason, it's always a good idea to pick and choose engagements to ensure the odds are in your favor. This way, even if things go awry, there's always scope to escape and rotate to safety.

8) Use stealth when trying to snipe opponents

The Heavy Sniper requires a lot of skill and patience to use in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. In combat, whipping out the weapon and shooting an opponent will mostly result in them dodging the shot. Thanks to the new 'Glint' feature, it's easy to know when someone is using it.

For this reason, when trying to snipe opponents, it's always a good idea to approach the target as stealthy as possible. Only once the target is in a good position should you take out the Heavy Sniper and aim down sight. Try to aim and pull the trigger as soon as possible to avoid the 'Glint' being spotted.
