For the time being, the only thing relatively certain in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is the theme. According to leakers, the season will have Neo-Tokyo vibes that will resonate well with a futuristic Japanese theme, which is what Epic Games may be going for.

Apart from this, there's no telling what will happen. Until the Rift Gate is fully activated at the end of the current season, every theory is more or less based on guesswork. With nothing else to go on, we can only make logical deductions. That said, here's what players may expect to see in the upcoming season's storyline.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 storyline will be a futuristic roller coaster ride

Since we are majorly going by speculations and theories, it's best to start with what's known. For starters, Geno and the Imagined Order will likely be coming back if the audio logs narrated by Rift Wadern Stellan are to be taken seriously. He mentions the "Shapeless Man" wanting to build a world of perfect order.

Since the Rift Gate was built at the behest of the "Shapeless Man," this adds credibility to the fact that he wanted to come to the island. Given how vast the metaverse is, this was the only alternative for him.

While there's some uncertainty about who sabotaged the Rift Gate, it was seemingly done with the intent of keeping it open at all costs. This will, in theory, stop anyone from closing it if the need arises.

Keeping these things in mind, we can entertain the possibility of Geno, alongside the Imagined Order, taking over the island and setting up shop. Since leakers have found files indicating that bunkers and guards will be present on the Season 2 map, it may be safe to assume that the island will soon belong to them.

Given their technological advancements, it is likely that they will be the ones to usher in a futuristic era on the island in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. That said, there are some modern-day technologies present on the island even in its medieval era.

However, none of the above facts, theories, or speculations provide any insight into the Japanese theme. While Epic Games did add Bamboos to the island earlier to tease players, it's unclear how a full-blown Neo-Tokyo theme will come about.

Even if it can be theorized that Geno and the Imagined Order will bring forth a technological revolution, they do not have any clear connections to Japan. That said, it's possible that they aren't the only ones to come through the Rift Gate.

With Fox Clan being heavily teased this season, they might be the ones to usher in the Neo-Tokyo vibes and futuristic Japanese theme. We will only know for sure as the storyline pans out in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.

Will the Attack on Titan and Star Wars collaborations affect the storyline of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2?

While both these franchises will add their individual flavors to the storyline in some way, they won't affect it intrinsically. Instead, they will function as elements brought in to make things more interesting in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.

On that note, it will be interesting to see what micro-stories Epic Games will craft to seamlessly introduce Eren Yeager and the upcoming Star Wars collaboration to the game. Given how both franchises have global fanbases, a simple introduction will not suffice.
