Fortnite x Naruto to likely bring adult version of Sasuke in Chapter 4

Till date, there have been two major Naruto collaborations in Fortnite. Due to the sheer popularity of the iconic series, otakus within the game's community were overjoyed when major characters from Naruto: Shippuden were brought into the metaverse. However, based on recent information, Epic Games isn't done with Naruto just yet.

According to the dataminer/leaker GMatrixGames, the original collaboration that was planned with Naruto featured an adult version of Sasuke Uchiha. Unlike the current skin that's available in-game, this one would feature him without an arm, but this is exactly where complications arise.

How would a one-armed skin work in Fortnite?

Despite Sasuke Uchiha being a rather popular character, Epic Games will have technical difficulties adding a skin with one arm into the game. Considering that weapons and Harvesting Tools require two arms to be used, this could be a big challenge.

The developers will have to create an entirely new set of animations to accommodate this change, including animations for driving, parkouring, emoting, and weapon handling. As mentioned earlier, although Sasuke Uchiha is quite popular, the developers won't take this much of an effort for just one skin. So, what would be the potential workaround?

As it stands, there are two options: a prosthetic arm or a Susanoo arm. While the former is the most logical choice, with Sasuke turning down the prosthetic arm that was made for him by Tsunade in the series, the latter is the only choice that remains.

The developers could easily create Sasuke's missing arm using Susanoo. While it wouldn't stay true to the storyline that's currently ongoing, there's no other option available to them. Furthermore, the visual effects of such an arm would be something amazing to look at.

Given that many characters in Fortnite have bionic and/or prosthetic arms, having one with an arm made out of 'chakra' would be interesting, to say the least. However, considering the present storyline, this would stray far from the original source material.

When will an adult version of Sasuke Uchiha be introduced to Fortnite in Chapter 4?

With Boruto: Naruto Next Generation set to release Code Arc in February 2023, it can be theorized that a new version of Sasuke Uchiha will be introduced to the game soon. However, considering that the collaboration with Dragon Ball is still ongoing and the older one with My Hero Academia is wrapping up, it may be far too soon to have another one in-game.

Despite anime-themed cosmetics being extremely popular in Fortnite, if the developers fail to provide a pause in breathing space between each collaboration, the hype train will likely slow down. That said, it takes a lot of time to initiate and wrap up each collaboration as well.

That said, if another collaboration does occur in Chapter 4, it will potentially be with Boruto: Naruto Next Generation rather than with Naruto: Shippuden. With it being a brand new collaborative effort, the developers will be unwilling to rush things. So if and when things do come to fruition, it will most likely be sometime towards the third quarter of 2023.

It should be noted that this is all based on speculation and the fact that Epic Games has been pushing for more collaborations with anime/manga series. With all that said, it'll be interesting to see how they showcase an adult version of the 'one-armed' Sasuke Uchiha in Fortnite.
