Epic Games has introduced a lot of changes with the arrival of Fortnite Chapter 4. New characters, locations, weapons, and interesting mechanics have been added to the game. However, many elements have also departed from the game for good and will never return as Loopers embark on an all-new journey.

As we move into a new era of Epic’s Battle Royale game, one of the things the game will leave behind is Battle Labs. This Creative Mode sandbox arena was extremely fun and allowed players to freely explore the island and conduct various experiments with their friends or all by themselves. It was also used by several content creators to record exciting videos.

Why is Battle Labs being removed from Fortnite?

For the uninitiated, Battle Labs was the open-world sandbox game mode that allowed players to roam around the island freely. Players could make a private room or match up with 15 other public players and explore all the possibilities of the island, including specific drops, chest locations, and other loot.

As Chapter 4 began, players started to wonder why Battle Labs was no longer in Fortnite. Fortunately, there is a very good reason why the developers have removed the sandbox mode from the Battle Royale game. Starting with Chapter 4 Season 1, Battle Labs has been officially removed to make way for Creative 2.0.

Epic Games has big plans for Creative 2.0, which will make a lot of things possible in the Creative mode. This means players will no longer need a separate sandbox mode like Battle Labs in Fortnite. Anything that Battle Labs can do, Creative 2.0 can do better. Naturally, Epic Games has removed Battle Labs as Chapter 4 begins to make room for the upcoming state-of-the-art Creative 2.0.

What is UE5/Creative 2.0 in Fortnite?

Epic Games is introducing an exciting new version of Creative mode with the help of Unreal Engine 5, called Creative 2.0. The state-of-the-art 3D graphic engine is set to change the way the game is played completely. In fact, players can already see UE5 in action with elements like Lumen and Nanite in Chapter 4. However, players will have to wait until Chapter 4 Season 2, to see the full potential of UE5 and Unreal 2.0.

Several leaks related to Creative 2.0 in Fortnite have been out already and give players a fair idea about everything the new Creative mode is capable of. Better graphics is just one of the advantages of UE5. It also offers a lot more flexibility than the previous version of the Creative mode, including advanced NPCs, more structures, better textures, etc.

Players will hardly miss Battle Labs in Fortnite once Creative 2.0 arrives. We might even see much more interesting content from YouTubers trying to navigate their way around the new Creative mode.
