Emily Kristine Pedersen and Suzann Pettersen have a lot in common. They are both talented golfers from Scandinavia and have similar last names. Hence, fans wonder if they are related.

However, the answer is no. Suzann Pettersen and Emily Kristine Pedersen are not related in any way. Their entire relationship has been built on golf, as they have shared countless experiences on various courses and events.

Suzann Pettersen was born in 1981 in Oslo, Norway. She turned professional in 2000 and has won 21 professional tournaments, including 15 on the LPGA Tour (2 majors). Pedersen has represented Europe twice before, winning once.

Emily Kristine Pedersen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1996. She has been a professional golfer since 2015, with six victories, five of them on the Ladies European Tour. She has played in nine editions of the Solheim Cup, winning four.

Due to the vagaries of the sport, the two golfers were never teammates.

Emily Kristine Pedersen's Solheim Cup record is three wins and four losses. HOwever, this is a misleading statistic, because while she lost three times in her rookie season, she won the same number (with one loss) in the 2021 edition.

Suzann Pettersen's Solheim Cup record is much longer. In 36 matches, she won 18, lost 12 and drew 6 for 21 points out of a possible 36. She is best remembered for her singles victory over Marina Alex in the 2019 edition, which gave the European team victory in the event.

Suzann Pettersen, Emily Kristine Pedersen and Europe at the 2023 Solheim Cup

The morning of the first day of the 2023 Solheim Cup was not an easy one for the European team as they lost all four foursomes matches, something that had never happened before at the start of the event.

Maja Stark and Linn Grant lost 2&1 to Lexi Thompson and Megan Khang, while Celine Boutier and Georgia Hall were beaten 1-up by Danielle Kang and Andrea Lee.

Leona Maguire and Anna Nordqvist also fell 1-up to Allisen Corpuz and Nelly Korda, while Charley Hull and Emily Kristine Pedersen battled hard, but ultimately fell to Ally Ewing and Cheyenne Knight.

In the Solheim Cup, as we have seen so many times, four points is not a definite advantage. The Europeans responded like big stars in the afternoon session, and did not allow the Americans more than two halves in fourballs.

Gemma Dryburgh and Madelene Sagstrom drew against Rose Zhang and Megan Khang, as did Emily Kristine Pedersen (ace included) and Maja Stark against Jennifer Kupcho and Allisen Corpuz.

Leona Maguire and Georgia Hall defeated Lexi Thompson and Lilia Vu 1-up. Finally, Carlota Ciganda and Linn Grant defeated Angel Yin and Ally Ewing 4&2.
