The third round of the PGA Championship 2024 concluded on Saturday, May 18 and Xander Schauffele was successful in maintaing his lead after 54 holes. Although he is still one stroke ahead after three rounds, he has been joined by Collin Morikawa at the top.

The dramatic day at Valhalla Golf Club witnessed a lot of changes in the leaderboard. While the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Brooks Koepka slipped on Day 3, many players did incredibly well to keep themselves in contention for the final round.

Here's a look at the five potential winners to watch at Valhalla Golf Club.

Five players who can win the PGA Championship on Sunday

1) Xander Schauffele

For the second straight week, Xander Scahuffele is entering the final round with a 54-hole lead. However, he will be hoping that the final result is unlike the one in Wells Fargo Championship.

Schauffele, who is among the most consistent golfers on the PGA Tour, carded a 3-under 68 to aggregate at 15-under ahead of the final day at Valhalla. One good round can help him win his first major championship.

2) Collin Morikawa

Collin Morikawa was one stroke behind Schauffele ahead of the third round. However, he shot one better than him to tie at the top after 54 holes. He won the PGA Championship in his debut back in 2020 and now has the opportunity to do so once again.

3) Sahith Theegala

Sahith Theegala maintained his consistency and carded a back-to-back 67 to sit one stroke behind the lead after three days at Valhalla.

Theegala has set himself pretty nicely for the final round, as he is looking to claim the biggest title of his career so far.

4) Bryson DeChambeau

Bryson DeChambeau continued to be the best LIV golfer at the season's second major as he shot 4-under 67 in the third round. He is currently just two shots behind the lead.

This is the second straight major where DeChambeau is in contention. Last month, he finished T6 at the Masters Tournament after having a 36-hole lead.

5) Shane Lowry

Shane Lowry made a huge jump on Saturday after carding a 9-under 62. He jumped 25 spots after the third round with the help of nine birdies. He could have added one more if he hadn't missed the 11-footer on the eighteenth hole.

Lowry is tied with DeChambeau and Viktor Hovland for fourth place. He is seeking his second major championship.
