While Brooks Koepka won the PGA Championship 2023 and lifted the Wanamaker trophy this weekend, Michael Block was the real MVP of the event. Arguably the star of the major, the 46-year-old pro surprised many by finishing tied for 15th in the stacked field. He also bagged the biggest paycheck of his career and landed an invite to multiple events including next week’s 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge, RBC Heritage, and next year's PGA Championship.

Block’s story was nothing short of a fairytale and Netflix seems to be all over it. According to multiple reports, Block’s incredible PGA Championship run could be one of the big features of Netflix’s Full Swing Season 2. Golf reporter Daniel Rapaport revealed that the Netflix cameras were majorly focusing on Block's incredible round on the final day of the major championship. The camera crew even followed the golfer’s celebrations after the event.

Confirming Netflix’s involvement with Michael Block, Rapaport tweeted:

"Netflix was all over the Michael Block story. I’m sure that Full Swing episode might elicit a tear or two."

Following Rapaport’s tweet, one John Nucci also came out to reveal that the Full Swing camera crew followed Block to the Pittsford Pub, where Block reportedly celebrated.

He tweeted:

"Full Swing crew was at Pittsford Pub last night too, I believe with Michael Block."

It is also pertinent to note Block was also seen on the broadcast being mic'd up ahead of his final round on Sunday. The golfer’s famous hole-in-one in front of Rory McIlroy was recorded with multiple cameras on him.

While the inclusions of next year’s Full Swing are yet to be revealed, fans can expect a full episode for Block. The episode might give Joel Dahmen’s episode in the first season a run for its money as the ‘most liked’ story.

Michael Block's dream PGA Championship 2023 outing

Michael Block was clearly the breakout star of the PGA Championship 2023. Despite the tough weather conditions and course, Block shot a 70 for the first three rounds and a 71 in his last round. The golfer finished T15 with a +1. He was seen breaking down in tears while speaking to the reporters after his round.

An emotional Block said at Oak Hill on Sunday, via CNN:

“If it makes any sense, the one thing in the world that makes me cry is golf. If that puts into context as far as how much I love the game, you know now. It’s everything to me. Obviously, I love my family and everything else and my job and everything, but golf is my life. I live it, breathe it."

The golfer’s dream of playing at Oak Hill was realized and it became an inspiration for many around the world. Now, the golfer’s dream run continues as he received an invite for the 2023 Charles Schwab challenge next week.
