GTA 6's map will feature one of Grand Theft Auto's most iconic locations — Vice City. This Miami-based setting is best remembered from games like 2002's Grand Theft Auto Vice City and 2006's Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories. Both titles are quite fun and fans expect the series' upcoming entry to include a few tributes or easter eggs related to its predecessors.

That said, Grand Theft Auto 6 should steer clear of some mistakes made with these games, especially regarding GTA Vice City Stories, to ensure an enjoyable experience for fans. So, here are five Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories mistakes that GTA 6 should avoid.

Frequent gang attacks and 4 other Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories' mistakes that GTA 6 should avoid

1) Too many timed missions

Missions involving timers are pretty common in the GTA series. However, GTA Vice City Stories has a tad too many for one's liking. Although being presented with such challenges can be an enthralling experience, overdoing it like Vice City Stories can easily make the game annoying.

Therefore, while Rockstar shouldn't entirely rid GTA 6 story mode of timed missions, such quests should certainly be limited in number.

2) Overall hard gameplay

While too many timed missions made the Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories annoying, the overall hard difficulty often rendered the game less enjoyable. This is another example of when too much of a challenge can negatively impact gameplay.

In a nutshell, Rockstar Games must strike the right balance with the level of difficulty in GTA 6's gameplay, so that all types of gamers can have fun.

3) Frequent gang attacks

Rival gangs can attack players' businesses in GTA Vice City Stories, upon which they must defend them. This is quite an intriguing mechanic in theory, but the frequency at which it occurs in the 2006 title is tedious. In fact, they can often occur in rapid succession, virtually not allowing you any time to breathe.

Hence, if Rockstar plans to incorporate such features in GTA 6, it should replicate GTA Online wherein business raids are possible, but not an incredibly common sight.

4) Returning cars dominate the catalog

Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories features a plethora of cars, but most of them are returning rides from previous GTA games. This might have been a conscious decision to prioritize continuity, but it meant players didn't have a lot of new choices in the vehicles department.

Multiple GTA Online cars have also been spotted in the first GTA 6 trailer. In fact, most of those were returning rides with just a few being new releases. It would be much better if the sequel's vehicular catalog is dominated by fresh rides.

5) Not releasing on PC

Arguably the biggest mistake Rockstar Games made with GTA Vice City Stories was not releasing it on PC. The title was made available on PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3, and remains a console exclusive to this day.

Needless to say, GTA 6 should not repeat this mistake. It is currently only confirmed for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but a game of its stature skipping PC seems very unlikely.

Rockstar also has a history of launching PC ports a little later than console versions. So, GTA 6 might eventually hit PC but that remains to be seen as of now.
