Minecraft is a survival game where players enter a near-endless world with three different realms filled with challenges. Hostile mobs can attack, irregular terrain will make travel difficult, and several structures threaten a player's life. Hence, there are several things to remember and follow, especially for someone entirely new to Mojang's sandbox title.

Minecraft becomes more challenging for newcomers as it does not inform players of several essential things they must do or avoid doing. Hence, thousands of newbies die countless times before realizing the correct way to play the game. Here are a few important tips when jumping into the game for the first time.

1) Do not dig straight down

As the name implies, this game is about mining blocks and crafting new items. Hence, players must head down and mine underground to find new and vital resources. However, one of the most common mistakes players make is that they start digging straight downward.

This is extremely dangerous since they can fall into a pool of lava or even take fall damage if their hole opens to a massive cave.

2) Always use a shield

It is of utmost importance for new players to craft a shield once they're done with weapons and tools. This protective gear can be placed offhand and used to protect oneself from various kinds of attacks from hostile mobs.

Shields can defend against arrows, melee attacks and even block creeper explosions. Hence, it is instrumental during the early game when players do not have enchanted armor sets or powerful potions.

3) Never look at an Enderman

Enderman are neutral mobs that are highly mysterious, especially for those who are new to the game. They don't attack players even if they are near one, but they can get angry and ambush if players stare directly at them for too long. Hence, newbies must never forget not to look at their faces wherever they spawn.

The only way to look at them directly without angering them is by wearing a carved pumpkin on one's head.

4) Never attack zombified piglins in Minecraft

When players progress forward, they will enter the second realm in the world: the Nether. This hellish place contains lava lakes, mysterious creatures, and irregular terrain. Here, loads of zombified piglins will spawn in almost every biome. However, players must avoid attacking them. If one of them gets angry, every other zombified piglin mob will also get angry and collectively attack the player.

Hence, if these are the first people players encounter after entering the Nether, they must never start attacking them.

5) Avoid Deep Dark biome

With the 1.19 update, Mojang released arguably the scariest and one of the most challenging biomes in the game: the Deep Dark Biome. This cave biome generates deep in the Overworld and contains mysterious sculk blocks. Some of these sculk blocks can detect any sound and get activated.

If players make too much noise, the sculk shrieker block will summon the Warden, one of the most powerful mobs in the entire game. Hence, new players must avoid the Deep Dark biome if they stumble upon one.

If users still want to explore it, they can safely store every item in their base, empty their XP level by enchanting and doing other activities, and then head into the biome to not lose anything upon their death.
