Minecraft Championship (MCC) Pride 2023 date and time announced

The Minecraft Championship is coming in 2023 for the third consecutive time, and it will be honoring pride. This tournament will occur in June, also often called Pride Month. This falls as part of the regular MCC, which is the official competitive scene of the game. One of the Pride events counts for the Championship, and the other two are just for fun.

They are officially partnering with the Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization founded in 1998 that focuses on suicide prevention efforts among LGBTQIA+ youth. They tweeted:

"It's time to play with pride! MCC Pride 2023 will be dropping into the Decision Dome Saturday 10th June 8pm BST! Join us for this special event and help us raise money for Trevor Project and their work to support the LGTBQIA+ community!"

On Saturday, June 10, the Pride celebration will officially commence. Tune in at 8 PM (BST) to watch all the festivities. This event only occurs once yearly, so you do not want to miss your opportunity.

According to the Minecraft Wiki:

"MC Championship Pride, also known as MCC Pride, is a once a year charity event in MC Championship, where the Noxcrew raises money for the Trevor Project. There are currently a total of three MCC Pride events in MC Championship as of May 2022, with the first one in MCC 6 as a canon event and the other MCC Pride events being non-canon after that event."

Mojang has always been supportive of the LGBTQ community. They often host pride events within Minecraft, and the community largely favors them.

MCC Pride is an exciting event that several creators are anxious to participate in. The 29th canon and 34th overall MCC event were recently held, and now the community is looking forward to the event in less than three weeks.

Minecraft routinely hosts pride events

Several years ago, Mojang became very involved with the LGBTQ community. They shared a blog post in 2021 to discuss it:

"Can you feel it? That special feeling that comes on the eve of a big event. Magic in the air. Glitter blowing in the wind. Yup, you guessed it. Our Pride celebration is about to start so get ready for an entire summer of rainbow-scented fun! Minecraft is for everyone, and this summer we’re going to highlight the LGBTQIA+ community in lots of different ways. I do hope that you’ll join us."

The game has always been used to educate, whether in Education Edition or just by the regular game having crafting and other aspects. Now, they're using it to promote social issue education as well.
