Johan Ghazali believes that Stamp Fairtex can dictate where her next fight takes place if she wishes to do so.

Just like any time the Thai superstar steps inside the Circle to compete in MMA, there is one major talking point.

Given the atomweight MMA queen's undeniable expertise in striking, there will always be talk of whether her opponent can force the ONE atomweight world champion to grapple more which would seemingly be the best path to success.

Denice Zamboanga has spoken a lot about this before she challenges for the atomweight MMA world title at ONE 167 on June 7.

The two women know each other well having been sparring partners in the past and while Zamboanga is well aware that the champ has made a lot of improvements as a well-rounded mixed martial artist, she believes that she has done the same.

In an interview with Sportskeeda MMA in the build-up to a huge card, Johan Ghazali said that he believes the champion will be able to choose how this one plays out thanks to the evolution of her game:

"Honestly, it's just really up to Stamp. She can do whatever she wants, it's her choice and she has plenty of ways to finish things up there. But I feel like, of course, her main ability will be striking. But if she wants to take her to the ground, I bet she can."

Can Stamp justify Johan Ghazali's confidence?

The big question that will be answered on fight night is what Johan Ghazali is so confident of when predicting the main event.

We know that both competitors have changed a lot since the days when they would train alongside each other every day at the Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya, Thailand.

What we need to find out is whether Stamp has been able to improve enough to defeat Denice Zamboanga wherever the fight goes.

Her overall game is likely to be tested in this fight but make no mistake about it, the champion will be ready for such a task.

ONE 167 will air live from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 7. North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription can catch the entire card for free.
