He may be laidback, but Demetrious Johnson is anything but when it comes to his endeavors.

The reigning ONE flyweight MMA world champion has a maniacal intensity to improve his martial arts bag, and he did so when he visited submission grappling superstars Kade and Tye Ruotolo.

Johnson trained with Kade, the ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion, and Tye, the ONE welterweight submission grappling world champion, at Pat Tenore's facility in California.

The American MMA legend shared a clip of his training session with the twin brothers, specifically his roll with Tye.

Demetrious Johnson wrote on Instagram:

"It was like a monster from the depths of the void!! Three-hour training session from sharing BJJ knowledge to Jits 🥋 knowledge!! Thank you @ruotolobrothersjiujitsu for the rolls. Shout out to @shoyoroll for the finest gi to touch our bodies 😛"

Johnson has been focusing on his BJJ career as of late, and he already collected a couple of gold medals during his IBJJF tours.

'Mighty Mouse' first captured gold in the IBJJF Master World Championship in 2023, then another title in the IBJJF Pan Championship earlier this year.

He was also in Hawaii this past week to teach in a quick seminar at Angela Lee and Bruno Pucci's gym United BJJ Hawaii in Waipahu.

Demetrious Johnson hints at his retirement from MMA

Demetrious Johnson is often called one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, and he feels his time in the sport is coming to an end.

In his conversation with Chael Sonnen on his 'Mighty' YouTube channel, Johnson revealed he could retire from MMA at the end of 2024.

Johnson said:

"I think when it comes to MMA like, I was just taking a nap today and I was thinking. 15 world titles, I defended an MMA belt 12 times, four amateur belts. What else is there for me to do in MMA?... Eventually, it might come to an end. It might come to an end this year."

Johnson was the inaugural UFC flyweight world champion and he defended his throne a record 11 straight times from 2013 to 2017.

He then moved to ONE Championship in 2019, where he captured the ONE Flyweight Grand Prix World title and ultimately the ONE flyweight MMA world title.
