In April 2023, Denice Zamboanga fought Julie Mezabarba at ONE Fight Night 9 in an atomweight MMA contest inside the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

During this match, Zamboanga proved that she is not a fighter who only relies on her top-flight wrestling skills but can also be a savage on the feet using her boxing combinations.

One solid proof of this is the short clip that ONE Championship posted recently on their Instagram account, where she was seen throwing bombs at her Brazilian opposition, which snapped her head back.

The promotion captioned the post with:

"Got the need for speed 💨 Does Denice Zamboanga have what it takes to become the new ONE Women's Atomweight MMA World Champion when she challenges Stamp at ONE 167 on @primevideo on June 7? @denicezamboanga"

The 27-year-old Filipino MMA star got the nod from the judges in this encounter with Mezabarba to secure her fifth victory under the world's largest martial arts organization.

Denice Zamboanga will challenge good friend Stamp Fairtex for ONE gold at ONE 167 on June 7

After a long time of waiting, Zamboanga finally received her first world title opportunity on June 7 in the main event of the ONE 167 card inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, against her former teammate and good friend Stamp Fairtex.

This will be Stamp's first world title defense since winning the 26-pound golden belt in September 2023 at ONE Fight Night 14. Both Zamboanga and Stamp will be putting her friendship behind them to determine the undisputed ONE atomweight MMA world champion.

The two MMA stars were former teammates at Fairtex Training Center before 'The Menace' decided to head back home to the Philippines to move her training camp.

ONE 167 is available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America in U.S. primetime on June 7. The card will emanate from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
