Tennis stars Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, and Emma Raducanu become the top three most searched female athletes on Google.

The list serves up two additional tennis players: Naomi Osaka, holding down the ninth position, and Jessica Pegula, rounding out the top ten. Other female athletes like soccer players Alexia Putellas (4), Alex Morgan (5), Sam Kerr (6), Megan Rapinoe (8), and gymnast Simone Biles (7) feature in the top 10.

Tennis sensation Iga Swiatek with a smashing 15.6 million Google searches, makes her the reigning queen of online searches for female athletes worldwide from September 2022 to August 2023. The Pole aced two grand slams at Roland Garros and Flushing Meadows last year and joined the elite club of WTA players who ruled the roost for over 40 weeks straight.

Coco Gauff sits pretty in the second position with a whopping 10.1 million Google searches. The current World No. 3 has been making waves ever since her US Open victory this year, becoming the second youngest player since Serena Williams to win the title at the age of 19. Besides the New York Major, the American tennis phenom has also clinched victories in Cincinnati and Washington, adding to her tally of six titles.

The British youngster Emma Raducanu is ranked third on the list with 9.6 million Google searches. Raducanu made a grand entrance onto the tennis stage at the 2021 US Open, where the 20-year-old had to play three matches in the qualifying stage to earn a spot in the main draw. Against all odds, Raducanu pulled a rabbit out of the hat and emerged victorious at the US Open, beating Leylah Fernandez in the final. She made history as the first British woman to reach the US Open final since 1968.

Over the course of a year, Naomi Osaka and Jessica Pegula had 5.4 and 4.3 million Google searches respectively.

“She won a slam and was No.1 forever”- Coco Gauff on Iga Swiatek 2023 run

2023 China Open - Day 13
2023 China Open - Day 13

The 2023 China Open was the last time we saw Coco Gauff in action, but she recently opened up on Iga Swiatek's season results.

Despite being World No. 1 and winning eight championships in 2022, including the French Open and the US Open, Iga Swiatek struggled in the year leading up to her China Open victory.

Only at Doha, Stuttgart, and the French Open did the Pole successfully defend her titles. In 2023, she also triumphed at the Poland Open. A disappointing North American swing followed Iga Swiatek's home-field success, dropping her to No. 2 in the World.

Coco Gauff, who met Iga Swiatek in the semifinals of the 2023 China Open, which the Pole eventually won, did not consider the 22-year-old's season a snooze.

“I mean, I've seen some of the comments people are saying, like she had not a good season. I mean, she won a slam and was No. 1 forever,” Coco Gauff said.
