Maria Sharapova enjoys her time in Boston

Maria Sharapova shared a glimpse into her short trip to Boston, where she took in the local culture with a visit to the ballet and the Isabella Steward Gardner Museum.

Sharapova made the trip over to Boston to support her friend Nanine Linning at the world premiere of her ballet, La Mer. As part of Boston Ballet's 'Our Journey' program, La Mer seeks to highlight the ocean's role in sustaining the planet.

The former World No.1 shared pictures of herself and Linning jumping with joy in celebration of La Mer's premiere, which Sharapova deemed "intelectually inspiring and thought provoking."

"24 hours in Boston. Celebrating my dear friend @naninelinningdance world premiere at @bostonballet. La Mer. Intellectually inspiring, thoughtprovoking, and just so beautiful!! Bravo," Sharapova captioned a post on Instagram.

The 35-year-old started her day with a visit to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, where she took in some famous artworks. Sharapova expressed her admiration for Rembrandt's Self-Potrait, Age 23, 1629 and Thomas Wilmer Dewing's famous Lady in Yellow, among others.

Sharapova rounded out her short trip with a visit to the Saltie Girl Seafood Bar where she enjoyed some dessert. The five-time Grand Slam champion also made a stop to get some shopping in, picking up a brown Maison Valentino skirt.

Maria Sharapova reveals the advice she would like to pass on to her son

On March 16, in an interview with NewBeauty, Maria Sharapova opened up about the advice she would like to pass on to her son. The 35-year-old and her partner Alexander Gilkes welcomed their son, Theo, on July 1, 2022.

Sharapova stated her belief that the best advice she could give was to be authentic oneself.

"I do think that being yourself is ultimately the best advice. I’ve never tried to pretend to be someone that I’m not. I think authenticity, particularly in today’s society where we are bombarded by so many influences, is the key," she said.

The Russian stated that she would encourage her son to maintain a curious and open-minded approach to life, always allowing room for growth and learning.

"It’s important to know who you are and to find out what it is that you love about yourself, and what it is that you want to say, as opposed to what others would want you to say. And continue to be curious. I think that’s so important in life. Always give yourself room to grow," she added.
