According to the Diddy s*xual assault lawsuit, the rapper was accused of obtaining the security footage from the hotel that captured the assault, for about $50K. On May 17, CNN obtained the footage of the alleged incident that took place at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.

While some fans expressed relief after some information was revealed, others questioned why and how it took so much time for such an important piece of evidence to be revealed. In the footage capturing the alleged incident that happened in 2016, one could see the rapper assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, by shoving her to the ground.

The video further captured the rapper dragging Ventura holding her hoodie for a while, and throwing things at her. He was allegedly intoxicated back then, as per the settled lawsuit.

Security footage capturing the alleged assault on Cassie Ventura by rapper Diddy has been obtained and made public recently

In the recently obtained security footage, the 54-year-old rapper could be seen assaulting his then-girlfriend singer Cassie Ventura. As per the lawsuit, the rapper had to pay $50k to the hotel staff to obtain the video.

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton took to Instagram Live on May 17, where he shared his views on the same issue. Hilton said:

"According to Cassie in the lawsuit that she filed last year against Diddy, she claims that Diddy paid the hotel to get that footage. He gave them $50K and problem solved. He was in possession of that footage."

Hilton added that the footage was obtained after the government raided the rapper's residence. Eventually, CNN too got hold of the security video. Perez further believed that someone leaked the footage from there. The blogger further blamed everybody who allegedly helped Diddy cover his tracks.

According to the celebrity blogger, the hotel staff had to be held responsible as well, since they were obligated to report such an incident. He added in his live session,

"They had an obligation to report a crime and they didn't. Shame on them."

In the recently released video, Ventura was seen leaving a hotel room and walking towards an elevator, while the rapper was seen following her in a towel. As soon as Sean "Diddy" Combs got hold of his now-former partner, he grabbed her neck and shoved her onto the ground.

While Ventura could be seen lying on the ground without any movement, the rapper took her suitcase as well as her purse away. He also ended up kicking Cassie Ventura in the process. While kicking her even more aggressively, Combs began dragging Ventura for a while. Shortly after that, he let the singer go and also took away all her belongings.

The security footage further captured the rapper coming back and grabbing Ventura again. He then could be seen sitting on a chair before throwing something that he picked up from the nearby table, at the singer. While leaving, the rapper turned back once and meanwhile, someone seemed to exit the place after the elevator door opened.

In the now-settled lawsuit which was filed in November 2023, the description of the assault reportedly matched the assault which was seen in the horrifying video. Fans and several celebrities have been questioning why it took so much time for the footage to come to the forefront for about eight years.

IHG management issued a statement according to which they don't have access to the videos

When the incident reportedly occurred, the hotel was under IHG management. Despite accusations, the management issued a recent statement to PEOPLE, according to which they had no idea what the deal with the Los Angeles hotel staff was. They further stated:

"This hotel is no longer under IHG management. And we do not have any access to prior incident records or footage."

The management further added that they did not have access to the footage and videos of that time. In a recent interview with PEOPLE on Friday, Douglas H. Wigdor, Cassie Ventura's attorney praised Cassie for being courageous. Wigdor additionally said:

"The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light."

After this video of the alleged assault had come to light, author Kola Boof claimed that Diddy assaulted the late Kim Porter the same way. The lawsuit, which was filed in November last year accused Diddy of being intoxicated and getting violent with his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. He allegedly punched Ventura in the face which further gave her a black eye.

Ventura reportedly managed to get out of the LA hotel, back in 2016, and get into a cab, shortly after the alleged assault by Diddy. The rapper was further charged with r*pe, s*x trafficking, and domestic violence. The lawsuit was then settled, just after a day of its filing. In the lawsuit, Cassie Ventura further claimed that the abuse had happened so many times on different occasions.
