Sean “Diddy” Combs’ former bodyguard Gene Deal recently shared his response to the video where the music mogul was supposedly seen beating Cassie Ventura. The CNN-obtained surveillance footage quickly went viral online, drawing shocking reactions from everyone.

It was not clear from the video if the man physically assaulting the woman was Puffy and his ex-girlfriend, Cassie. Nonetheless, several other artists and netizens believed it was the founder of Bad Boy Records.

Gene Deal appeared on Mighty Bolton’s show The Art of Dialogue on YouTube to speak about the footage. Bolton asked him what he thought about the clip, to which Gene said:

"Man you know that was crazy. And I know people gonna think that you know…'yo this is all what Gene wanted to see.'"

He continued:

"But no, listen here man, the devil got a purpose, God got a plan. Do you understand what I’m saying?...and it’s all in god’s plan man…to let people see because a lot of people wasn’t believing that this stuff even existed, brother."

Gene said many did not want to believe Cassie’s allegations against Diddy, and thought everyone, including himself and Lil Rod, were lying about the record producer. The former bodyguard sarcastically said:

"Diddy is the only one who told the truth. He said y’all just keep watching, the truth will soon come out. And you see what came out?"

He added how the video depicted the man punching the woman in the head and kicking her as if she were an animal.

Gene Deal said if a man with a child, a sister, or a female friend would watch the video, they would want to beat Puffy up. He called the incident "appalling" and mentioned Kim Porter, who shared four children with the rapper. Gene said:

"It was crazy man, and when I saw it, you know, I could imagine, what Kim went through."

He further referred to stylist and fashion designer Misa Hylton, who was with Puffy in the early 1990s and welcomed their son, Justin Combs together. Gene sympathized:

"I could imagine what Misa went through…It was just crazy for the dude to do that girl like that."

Host Mighty Bolton also added:

"I can’t believe what I seen, I still can’t believe what I seen in that video…the way he was kicking her was like he was kicking a field goal man."

Gene Deal said he had flashbacks of Puffy and Ja Rule running out of a room when he first watched the video. He opined that the video should have come with a trigger warning before it was shared online since the content was sensitive.

The Art of Dialogue host said he had heard similar stories involving Diddy, but it was the first time, he saw a visual depiction of the rapper's actions. Gene Deal said he would never allow Puffy to do something like that if he was around.

He spoke about an incident where the record executive was hospitalized. Gene said Kim injured Puffy's right wrist with a corkscrew as an aftermath of the rapper physically abusing her. He claimed Diddy must have paid the hotel security to keep the surveillance footage from the authorities. He said:

"You know at those hotels they have security personnels, they watch that stuff. And if they didn’t call a police they should be in jail...Whoever watched that tape, and didn’t submit that to the authorities, they should be brought up on charge."

As Mighty Bolton asked Gene Deal about his first reaction after watching the video, the latter expressed:

"I was sick in the stomach man, because you know when you have daughters, you just hope somebody don’t send you to jail like that. 'Cause any real man know, if somebody put their hands on their kids like that…my first reaction was man, is probably a lot of other women that had that same problem with old boy."

Gene Deal mentioned Gina Huynh as well, who joined Tasha K's podcast and accused Diddy of physical abuse while she was pregnant.
