VIDEO: Connor McDavid's temper flares after two huge scrums against multiple Canucks

Oilers captain Connor McDavid was frustrated and found himself in the scrum twice during the third period of the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks game on Monday.

Following McDavid's cross-check on a Canucks player near the goal line, Zach Hyman and J.T. Miller dropped their gloves. Meanwhile, McDavid and Philip Di Giuseppe got involved in the borders behind the goal line.

Following that, things escalated between both teams for the second time, with Connor McDavid at the center of the scrum once again with multiple Canucks players. This time, however, McDavid was given a two-minute minor for roughing against Pius Suter, while Leon Draisaitl was given a 10-minute miss conduct.

The Vancouver Canucks are currently leading the game with 5-2. The Oilers are on their way to losing their third straight game against the Canucks this season.

"Obviously frustrating": Connor McDavid on Edmonton Oilers' defeat to the Canucks

On Monday, Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers had yet another disappointing performance in Vancouver. The Canucks left out the Rogers Arena with an emphatic 6-2 win.

The Oilers had a great start to the game. They were well-controlled and played some good hockey. In the first period, Mattias Ekholm put the Oilers up 1-0. However, following the halfway mark, the Canucks responded with three goals, and the Oilers looked less confident and found themselves chasing the Canucks throughout the game.

The Oilers' frustration peaked in the third period, when multiple players were involved in a scrum. Leon Draisaitl was given a 10-minute misconduct penalty, while McDavid received a two-minute penalty for rough play.

Coach Jay Woodcroft was ejected from the game late in the period for his unsportsmanlike behavior toward the referee.

Following the game, the Oilers captain spoke to the media and expressed that the defeat was a frustrating one to take:

“Obviously frustrating,” Oilers captain Connor McDavid said. “I felt like we did a lot of good things in the first period and found ourselves down and chasing things.”

Leon Draisaitl was the other scorer for the Oilers in the game. Meanwhile, Thatcher Demko continued with his stellar performance and made 40 saves for the Canucks between the pipes.

The Oilers are currently seventh in the Pacific Division, just above the winless San Jose Sharks, whom the Oilers are scheduled to play next on Thursday, Nov 9.
