Popular WWE star reacts to major loss on SmackDown

Carmelo Hayes has shared a reaction to his major loss during this past Friday's edition of WWE SmackDown. The blue brand picked the former NXT Champion in the first round of this year's WWE Draft.

The 29-year-old defeated Baron Corbin in the first round of the King of the Ring Tournament but was eliminated this past Friday night by Randy Orton. Orton picked up the victory by hitting an impressive RKO in the final moments of the match.

The Viper will be facing Tama Tonga next week on SmackDown in the semifinal. The winner of that match will go on to the final of the KOTR Tournament at the King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia on May 25.

WWE Hall of Famer predicted Carmelo Hayes would lose to Randy Orton on SmackDown

Wrestling legend Teddy Long saw Carmelo Hayes' loss on this past Friday's edition of SmackDown coming and noted that the former NXT Champion's attitude wasn't the best.

Hayes has come up short a couple of times already on SmackDown, but both losses occurred against major names. He lost to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in his first bout on the blue brand and also lost to Randy Orton this past week.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Teddy Long commented on Carmelo Hayes and said that he never spoke to anyone. Long added that Hayes was not going to be able to defeat Orton in the King of the Ring Tournament.

"I ain't seen Carmelo Hayes. His attitude wasn't too good, you know, he never spoke to anybody, never talk much, so I don't really know anything about him. But I can tell you this, he ain't coming out on top over Randy Orton," said Long. [6:08 onwards]

Carmelo Hayes has also started an issue with Bobby Lashley on WWE SmackDown. However, it was recently reported that Lashley had suffered an injury and he was removed from the King of the Ring Tournament.
