WWE Superstars have been plagued with several unfortunate and untimely injuries of late. The silver lining of the situation is that it appears the new management cares about the talents, as many have praised Chief Content Officer Triple H since he took over. However, the hard truth is that it leaves many of the athletes out for a prolonged period of time, oftentimes missing major events.

The company announced via social media that Ivar from Monday Night RAW is out with an injury. A new update has come to light regarding the former tag team champion's status.

Per Fightful Select, speculation online that Ivar's injury is a work is false. While the severity of the injury isn't known as of yet, the report even revealed that Ivar has long wrestled as if he's on borrowed time after his double fusion surgery.

Ivar, 40, recently opened up about The Viking Raiders. He said that it is not just a gimmick to him and his tag team partner Erik. As for the latter, Ivar even touched upon his injury and return timeline.

Ivar was originally booked to contend for the WWE Speed Championship

The Speed Championship was introduced by WWE in March 2024 and Ricochet was crowned as the inaugural titleholder a month later. A new number-one contender's tournament is ongoing.

Ivar had already defeated Apollo Crews to advance. However, in light of his injury, he is now removed from the contest and has been replaced by Tyler Bate. This also means Crews will receive another crack at becoming the number-one contender.

In the past few months, Ivar has put on some exceptional performances on Monday Night RAW, wrestling against the best on the roster, from Sami Zayn to Chad Gable, Kofi Kingston and "Big" Bronson Reed. He has even made appearances on NXT in recent times.

Ivar was often singled out for his work during his solo run. The former tag team champion's absence is certainly a blow to the company as Ivar has always been a consistent workhorse.
